She grew up in the United States and prided herself on providing the best service to babies in her pediatric career. She taught interns in her residency program to learn about the community they serve. Entering this crisis in 2011 brought up images of all those who suffered in Iraq.

Website design By BotEap.comOnce questions arose about the water crisis and the possible cover-up in Flint, Michigan, she decided to fight for the health of all her children. He began by testing the blood lead levels of patients. She and the three others who began investigating the issue faced rejection from local state officials who denied there was a problem.

Website design By BotEap.comAfter an eight-month ordeal, she finally managed to get them to admit the legitimacy of her concerns. His proposed action included declaring a state of emergency, providing water filters, bottled water, and premixed formula. Lead was found in the drinking water of three schools.

Website design By BotEap.comThe problem started when the water supply was switched from Lake Huron to the Flint River in an effort to save money. The Flint River had been a toxic landfill for years.

Website design By BotEap.comAfter the crisis was exposed, some officials lost their jobs, criminal charges were brought against some, and those who remained in office at least had the eyes of the nation watching them.

Website design By BotEap.comDr. Mona and her partners created FlintKids.org to provide a variety of services to help Flint children heal and have hope for the future. They also partner with the Imagination Library program to bring books to children to promote early childhood literacy.

His fight for freedom in a free country had not been in vain. He may not have been able to prevent what happened in Iraq, but in the United States he was able to make his voice heard to make change happen.
