There are some cars that need some specialized removal tools. For those car brands that like Mazda, Audi, and Ford, use the tools in the slots on the face of the unit. Pull the unit out of the base enough to reach the wire antenna and wiring attached to the back of the stereo unit.

Wiring harnesses may have release mechanisms that must be activated before disconnecting the wires. Consult the repair manual for specific instructions before removing the cable connectors from the outlets on the rear panel of the unit.
