Website design By BotEap.comI looked around and googled some tips on how to start a blog and found several websites with very detailed articles that have some useful guides and information.
Since hindsight is 20 20, I wish I had known how to do this before I even started a single blog! Website design By BotEap.comAll of these How to Start a Blog articles have a similar list of “Things to do” that scrolls through the body of the article. The biggest difference I found is that the list of these things to do is that the order will vary from author to author based on their own standard of importance. Website design By BotEap.comMany recent blogging programs and articles seem to focus on: do your market research, find a busy market, do your keyword research and find your niche even before purchasing a domain name or hosting. Website design By BotEap.comI’m going to do something different. Website design By BotEap.comHere’s a list of those important things to do in no particular order. Website design By BotEap.com1. Know what you want from your Blog. Website design By BotEap.com2. Decide who you plan to talk to on your Blog. Website design By BotEap.com3. Keep your information targeted…sought by the person you’re talking to. Website design By BotEap.com4. Always and forever keep your Blog updated. Update often. Website design By BotEap.com5. Since this is a blog, please make it easy to use comments to connect. Website design By BotEap.com6. Be found by doing your part by blogging, using social media, commenting, making friends online, you know the drill! Website design By BotEap.com7. Stay up to date on the use of new tools, check them out, seize the opportunity! Just keep in mind who you’re talking about when choosing. Website design By BotEap.com8. Get help. Other bloggers are only too happy to give advice, point the way, or even help. Just ask. Everyone starts out as a newbie. Website design By BotEap.com9. Never stop learning. Stay updated (not just your Blog). Website design By BotEap.com10. The last thing to do: keep it personal…be yourself. If people just wanted facts, they could go to Wikipedia. Your thoughts are what matters and they will make the difference between success and failure. Website design By BotEap.comSo far, so good. Each item on the list above is an article on its own, so I’m not going to write about any of them in detail today. Website design By BotEap.comWhat I do want to emphasize is this one thing to do that I learned from a marketing program and it has become immensely valuable to me. Website design By BotEap.comTo get started: print this short article, turn off your computer, sit on your back porch if you’re lucky enough to have one, and use an old-fashioned pen along with a yellow notepad or notebook and your to-do’s. print start work.
