Real Weight Loss: This Is How I Lost 25 Pounds

Website design By BotEap.comI know what many of you are thinking, 25 pounds is not much. Well, for me it was. I have always been skinny, until about 2 years ago. Suddenly, I looked in the mirror and thought, “Oh no, I look terrible. How could I let myself get so fat?” I feel terrible.

Website design By BotEap.comYes, I had noticed that my clothes were getting tighter. I guess I just didn’t want to accept the fact that I needed to lose weight. I felt uncomfortable, tired and lazy.

Website design By BotEap.comI decided I wanted to get back to my “wedding date” weight, which was 116 pounds! I sat down and started thinking about all the things I needed to change to get to my desired weight. The most important thing for me was to look good with myself, with my husband and with my children.

Website design By BotEap.comNot only did she want to look good, she wanted to eat healthy and be healthy at the same time. So the first thing I stopped doing was going to fast food places. I know that kind of food is not good for my body or my wallet! I also stopped buying snacks at the supermarket.

Website design By BotEap.comThe only snacks I would eat would be some kind of raw vegetables or sometimes popcorn – no butter! I started drinking a lot of water. I tried to drink a gallon a day, but I was spending too much time in the bathroom! So, I cut back to 1/2 gallon per day. I put lemon juice or lime juice in my water.

Website design By BotEap.comI was never a water drinker before. I was a diet coke drinker. But not anymore! That’s another thing I stopped buying. I started eating more vegetables and more meat, poultry and fish. I eat 5-6 times a day, but I eat smaller portions and use smaller plates. I also eat much slower so I start to feel full faster.

Website design By BotEap.comI used to eat fast and overeat until I felt uncomfortable and overloaded. I basically cut out all the bread, sugar, and white flour. I stopped eating the noodles and sauces. The hardest thing for me was to stop eating candy and chocolate products. I love chocolate brownies!

Website design By BotEap.comI started walking more. Now when I go to the store, I park farther away. My kids tell me we could have walked from home! I did not join any gym or exercise program. I basically changed the way I eat. Well I lost my 25lbs and I feel great! I look and feel better in my clothes. My husband tells me I look great and my kids say “not bad for a mom”.

Website design By BotEap.comI admit it, there were some difficult moments. I was tempted a lot, and yes, I did cheat sometimes! But I stuck with it and I keep telling myself it was worth it. Give it a try. Relax and take it day by day. Be proud of yourself and don’t give up!
