Usana success? Why Your Current Usana Marketing Methods Are Failing You!

Website design By BotEap.comUsana Health Sciences has grown into a very large and well-known health and wellness network marketing company, which was founded by Dr. Myron Wentz, who started out as Gull Laboratories in the early 1970s, eventually selling his interest. and created Usana in 1992. In 2006, Usana Health Science had net sales of $374 million through Usana Health Science staff and distributors. Usana Health Science offers a variety of personal care and home health care products that Usana believes are at the forefront of providing adequate nutrition at the cellular level, fiber, and antioxidant protection for our bodies. Usana is without a doubt a well established and competitive company in the field of network marketing health and wellness. Although Usana as a company seems to be doing pretty well, the question is will Usana provide a viable income opportunity for the average distributor?

Website design By BotEap.comFirst, Usana passes the litmus test of stability; the company has been around for many years and shows no sign of closing its doors. However, do you meet the 3 success criteria for your independent distributors?

Website design By BotEap.com1. Is the product or service something the distributor is passionate about? Usana seems to provide quality products that provide real benefit to the consumer (only you, the distributor, know if you can be passionate about health and wellness products)

Website design By BotEap.com2. Is there a demand for the product or service? Health and wellness is a huge industry and it shows no signs of slowing down. Many Usanas focus on disease prevention and that along with energy boosting products are in high demand.

Website design By BotEap.comOk, what about marketing strategies where Usana falls short?

Website design By BotEap.comFirst of all, Usana, as well as many network marketing companies, encourage you to market to your friends and family, their warm market. Your friends and family never were and probably never will be your prospects. Would you rather harass your friends and family to join your business and use your products or would you rather find ways to have a hundred people a day come to you looking for what you have to offer (that’s marketing)? There are thousands of people looking for the benefits of your Usana products, your job is to find them or, better yet, have them find you.

Website design By BotEap.comNext, business opportunities, don’t buy them, ever. These are people who have virtually no interest in what you have to offer and most likely don’t remember what ridiculous survey they completed that got them on the Biz op mailing list. There are thousands of specific leads for Usana; they just don’t fall into the main Business Opportunity category.

Website design By BotEap.comLastly, handing out free products doesn’t work; all it does is cost you money. Those samples you hand out to friends and family and anyone three foot tall usually sit on a shelf somewhere and are never used. Additionally, many health and wellness products take weeks, if not months, for the user to feel or see a benefit. Are you going to provide each prospect with 2 month samples to see the benefit? Are the people you are encouraging to sample really looking for what you have to offer? Yes, everyone could probably benefit from some Usana products, but that doesn’t mean everyone will want them.

Website design By BotEap.comThere are a few more on the list, but I think you get the idea. The truth is, Usana Distributors can make a lot of money by marketing their products effectively. In fact, any distributor with a reputable network marketing company in the health and wellness field can do quite well if they learn how to market effectively. Most likely, the people at the top of Usana’s compensation plan failed to use the find 3 techniques that find 3 warm markets. In this day and age, far too many people have been thrown in and scammed into the next get-rich-quick scheme. In future articles, I cover a few on why you should lead with your product and not your opportunity, but for now think outside the box and leave the warm market alone. Your friends and family will thank you.

Website design By BotEap.comRemember that building a great Usana business or any network marketing business is not a career, take your time to learn and develop the skills necessary to market your products and your downline will grow. If you continue to use the same outdated marketing techniques, I suggest you keep using the products; at least you will have experienced some benefit from your Usana Business.
