Bible reading: Have you read the world’s best-selling book?

Website design By BotEap.comHave you read the most printed book of all time? According to Wikipedia, that book would be the Bible, which sits at the top of their “List of Most Printed Single-Volume Books” with over 5 billion copies.

Website design By BotEap.comFor the record, the Qur’an comes in second at 4 billion. Charles Dickens “A Tale of Two Cities” ranks fifth on the list with 200 million copies. JRR Tolkien has two works in the Top Ten: “The Lord of the Rings” and “The Hobbit” (eight and nine, respectively).

Website design By BotEap.comThe question I have for you today is this: have you ever read the number 1 best-selling and most published book in history? If not, I’d like to encourage you to give it a try. And here’s an easy way to do it in a relatively short amount of time.

Website design By BotEap.comLike any book, it is important that you read it completely. Depending on which version you choose, the Bible is about 1,200 pages long. So if you want to read the Bible in a year, all you have to do is read 3 or 4 pages a day.

Website design By BotEap.comBut let’s be a little more realistic and assume that you are unlikely to read the Bible every day for the next 365 days. So how about this goal: read the Bible five days a week for the next 50 weeks? This gives you a little breathing space, right?

Website design By BotEap.comHere’s the math of this approach: 1,200 pages divided by 250 days equals about 5 pages per day. That’s all it takes: five pages a day, five days a week, and you’ll have read the entire Bible in a year. What do you say? Try it out and let me know how it goes.

Website design By BotEap.comIf your goal is to read the Bible in a year, check your version to see how many pages it has. Whatever the number, divide it by 250 to get the approximate number of pages you’ll need to read, assuming you’re going with the five-day-a-week plan.

Website design By BotEap.comOf course, if you want to take less time, say six months instead of twelve, just double the number of pages per day.
