Hockey Drill – Burpees

Website design By BotEap.comAwesome Full Body Hockey Workout

Website design By BotEap.comBurpees, as they’re known, are a great total-body exercise for hockey players of any level. You’ll work everything from your legs to your arms to your cardio, and each rep will take you less than 5 seconds. Talk about your efficient workouts!

Website design By BotEap.comThe way to do a burpee is as follows:

Website design By BotEap.com– Start in a squat position with your hands on the floor in front of you.

Website design By BotEap.com– Now quickly kick your feet back so that you are in a full pushup position.

Website design By BotEap.com– Don’t go down and do the pushup (at least not yet – if you’re more advanced doing this then give it a try – it adds a whole new element to the workout itself – trust me!)

Website design By BotEap.com– Now, jump as high as possible from the squat position – this will really help your explosiveness on the ice (make sure to try to reach maximum height with each jump).

Website design By BotEap.comTry to maintain a fast pace throughout the entire workout. Don’t just go through the motions with this one – the effectiveness of it and what will ultimately help you on track is its focus on exercising the cardiovascular system. Burpees help you increase your hockey stamina. Taking it easy with this training will not serve to benefit you at all.

Website design By BotEap.comBeginners to this workout should start by trying to do 10 reps in a row without taking a break. Obviously, the more you do it, the more conditioned you will be and your number of repetitions should increase.

Website design By BotEap.comTo see results on ice, try doing this workout 3-4 times a week. You don’t need weights and you don’t need time in a gym – this hockey workout can be done in your own home, so be sure to find time that fits your schedule.
