Movie Review: Despicable Me Gru

Website design By BotEap.comDespicable Me is a Universal Studios children’s movie starring Steve Carrel as the main character of the story. It’s great to see so many big stars in the movie, like Steve Carrel, Miranda Cosgrove, and Julie Andrews. In the movie, Gru (Steve Carrel) is one of the world’s super villains. Lately he has been unsuccessful at being “the greatest supervillain in the world.” So, with the help of his “henchmen” and Dr. Nafario, he plans to steal the moon by shrinking it with his ray gun. Minions look like thumbs in glasses and jumpsuits. But when his rival, a supervillain named Vector, steals it, he must adopt three orphan girls to enter Vector’s mansion. Although Gru is a super villain, you will see that he has a heart of gold. The movie has a fast pace and lots of laughs for the whole family.

It is entertaining as it uses action, adventure and humor. The movie is primarily a comedy. The mix of Gru learning to care for orphan girls makes a great basis for funny scenes. For example, you don’t know that little girls don’t sleep on newspapers in the kitchen. Or the fact that they don’t drink from dog bowls.

In a flashback scene from Gru’s childhood, it shows him trying to sell his mother a Macaroni spacecraft model. But you are surprised when he shows him his second model which is as big as his house. In another scene, Gru survives multiple rocket and missile hits from his enemy Vector. Minions are a bit weird too. But once you get to know them a bit, you will like these cute but fun critters.
