There may be some charge from a merchant unknown to you. In all of these circumstances, try to collect receipts, invoices, warranties, and all other related documents that support your claim.

There may be a genuine error. Perhaps an item from another customer might have been charged to your account or the waiter must have misread the amount of the tip. However, you must pay the other charges that are not related to this transaction. If the dispute is resolved in favor of the merchant, the credit card company may charge interest from the date of the dispute in addition to the original amount of the charge.

Instead of a category like ‘merchandise not received’, the category ‘unauthorized transaction’ will be handled with the highest priority and will have more protection.
