After presenting the example of self awareness essay, Barbara Benagh discusses the use of affirmations. Although Benagh does not mention it, I am sure that those that read her book will find that they are a great addition to their own personal self awareness. The reason that I think this is so beneficial is because affirmations take us out of our “thinking hole,” or whatever you may call it. Rather than being stuck inside our negative or pessimistic thoughts, affirmation allows us to look into a more optimistic future. I found that once I started putting the quotations in the example of self awareness essay, I could see things that were hidden from me before. I encourage everyone who is stuck in a rut to read positive affirmation daily.

The third example of self awareness essay that I found very helpful was one by Norman Vincent Peale. Although he was a great speaker and writer, I realized that what he said in his book had more to do with his own self awareness than what he was saying to his audience. He wrote that a man should learn how to “see beyond the surface of experience” and that is what he did in his writing. His message to me has always been to “know yourself.”
