Website design By BotEap.comIn this document, I will:

Website design By BotEap.com1. provide a framework to create the total power of the system at all levels and in all positions;

Website design By BotEap.com2. describe recurring pitfalls that limit the overall power of the system, and

Website design By BotEap.com3. Demonstrate how these pitfalls can be avoided so that systems realize their full potential.

Website design By BotEap.comAn empowered system

Website design By BotEap.comA system in which people at all levels and in all positions
they are able to make happen what they want to happen and what the system needs to happen

Website design By BotEap.comI. What is the fundamental business of all systems?
Whether we are dealing with the family, a sports team, a division within the organization, the organization itself, or a nation, the fundamental business of all systems is survival Y growthcontinuing its existence and realizing its full potential.

Website design By BotEap.comII. How do systems survive and develop?
All systems interact with their environments. In these environments there are dangers to avoid and opportunities to be taken advantage of. Systems survive and develop by coping with danger and prospecting between opportunities.

Website design By BotEap.com3rd How does each part of the system contribute to Total System Power?
Each part of the system has its unique potential contribution to Total System Power. These potentials are often not realized for the reasons described below.

Website design By BotEap.comTops as shapers. Tops’ unique contribution is to function as shapers of the system. The tops shape the system looking Exteriorstudying the environment of the system, detecting its dangers and opportunities, and observing Forwardensuring that the system has the structure, culture, inspiration and resources to deal with these dangers and opportunities.

Website design By BotEap.comThe following are areas that Tops as Shapers are responsible for. This does not mean that Tops is expected to do these things alone; means that whether or not these functions happen is Top’s responsibility.

Website design By BotEap.comThe covers enhance the system by:

Website design By BotEap.com1. develop a view of what the system is and can be, a vision that inspires the members of the system, that awakens their passions.

Website design By BotEap.com2. in development structures that mobilizes human energy and allows the system to live its mission.

Website design By BotEap.com3. develop a culture that supports creative, productive and fulfilling work. Culture involves things like atmosphere, traditions, rewards, and recognition systems.

Website design By BotEap.com4. seeing that the system has the means – human and material – to do their job.

Website design By BotEap.com*Workers as Producers. The only contribution of the Workers is to function as Producers of the System. Workers produce by being the experts on the system’s products and services, fully applying their intelligence and experience to the work of the system, having intimate knowledge of the needs and aspirations of customers, using their proximity to work and experience on the job to determine the best way to do the job in the organization, and getting involved in ways to improve products and services.

Website design By BotEap.com*Middles as integrators. The unique contribution of Middles is to function as the Integrating Mechanism of the system. They coordinate the parts of the system so that the system runs smoothly with the parts feeding and supporting each other, avoiding dysfunctional conflicts and unnecessary redundancy. Brokers integrate the system by regularly integrating with each other, sharing information, diagnosing common system problems, and resolving problems.

Website design By BotEap.comClients as validators. The only contribution of the Clients is to function as Validators of the system. They are in the best position to determine if the system is doing what it is supposed to do and if it is doing as well as it should. Customers validate the system by providing timely positive and negative feedback, offering concrete suggestions on how the system could improve service, and sometimes organizing with other customers to accomplish these issues.

Website design By BotEap.comThere is no conflict between these power sources.

Website design By BotEap.com1. The better the caps work in training, the better the structure, resources, and climate for workers to produce.

Website design By BotEap.com2. The better the Media is integrated, the more the Highs are free to shape, and the more Workers are supported to produce.

Website design By BotEap.com3. The better the Clients validate, the more everyone will know how well the system is doing what it is supposed to do.

Website design By BotEap.comV. Dangers to the total power of the system: top management, downtrodden workers, torn media, and justly screwed customers.

Website design By BotEap.comWhy tops don’t shape. Tops exist in a world of complexity– hard to deal with problems, unpredictable problems, things that Tops felt were resolved keep coming back. In the face of complexity, what Tops often do, reflexively, without conscious thought or choice, is absorb that responsibility towards themselves and away from others. When that happens, the Tops turn overwhelmed because of this overwhelming complexity. Under such conditions, shaping becomes a good idea but something for which, unfortunately, one simply does not have the time or energy.

Website design By BotEap.comWhy do workers not produce? Workers exist in a world of indifference: There are things that are wrong with their condition, and things that they see that are wrong with the system, and their feeling is that the “higher-ups” should be fixing these things, and they are not. In the face of this contempt, what workers usually do – again, reflexively, without realizing it or choosing – is hold “superiors” (not themselves) accountable for their condition and for the condition of the system. When that happens, the workers become downtrodden: there is energy focused on superiors, on what they are doing or not doing, disappointed with them, angry with them. Under such conditions, the Workers are not inclined to be the Producers as described above.

Website design By BotEap.comWhy the media do not work as an integrating mechanism. The media exist in a ripping pulled between the often conflicting demands and priorities of Seniors, Workers, Customers, Suppliers and other Media. Intermediates find themselves caught up in other people’s conflicts. In the face of this tear, what Middles usually does (again, reflexively, without conscious choice) is slip into other people’s problems and conflicts and make them your own. Middlemen hold themselves accountable for solving these problems, and what makes this even more difficult is that others also hold middlemen accountable for solving their own problems. When this happens, the media becomes Bend: torn from each other and torn internally, weak, confused, loss of independence, not fully satisfying any of the people they feel they should be serving. When that happens, being the integrator mechanism of the system is not a possibility.

Website design By BotEap.comWhy clients do not validate. Customers live in a world of neglect – products and services that do not reach them as quickly as they want, with the quality they feel they deserve or at the price they want to pay. Faced with this oversight, what Clients often do, without realizing it or choosing, is hold the delivery system accountable for delivery. In other words, it is very clear to customers that the responsibility for delivery lies entirely with the delivery system and not with them. When this happens, they become just fucked client: angry with the system, frustrated by it, feeling entitled and unfairly treated.

Website design By BotEap.comSAW. The keys to the total empowerment of the system: awareness, choice and postures.

Website design By BotEap.com1. All parties need to see their potential contributions as Shapers, Producers, Integrators and Validators.

Website design By BotEap.com2. All parties must recognize the reflex response as it occurs.

Website design By BotEap.com3. All parties must be able to say NO to reflex responses and have alternative positions from which to operate.

Website design By BotEap.comTop support. In the presence of Top overload, instead of absorbing the responsibility and becoming the overwhelmed Top, my position is: Being a Top that creates responsibility throughout the system.

Website design By BotEap.comBottom bracket. In the presence of Bottom’s indifference, instead of holding superiors accountable for my condition and for the condition of the system and becoming the oppressed Bottom, my position is: Being a Fund responsible for my status and the status of the system.

Website design By BotEap.commedium support. In the presence of the Torn Middle, instead of slipping between other people’s problems and conflicts and making them my own and becoming the Torn Middle, my stance is: To be a Midwayer who maintains my (and my peer group’s) independence of thought and action.

Website design By BotEap.comCustomer service position. In the presence of Customer negligence, rather than hold the delivery system accountable and become the Customers rightfully screwed, my stance is: Being a Client that gets in the way of the delivery processes and helps them work for me.

Website design By BotEap.comSAW. Final notes. Reflex responses that destroy the possibility of Total System Empowerment are predictable, but they are not inevitable. Stands, on the other hand, aren’t predictable, but they are a human possibility. These supports not only allow us to create more powerful systems, but also lift each of us to greater possibilities for ourselves as human beings.
