Now, by style I mean the shape and [once was maybe] convenience. The other thing is, does it fit well in your room? Do you care for all members of your family? [ two and four-legged family members]? How is the atmosphere in your house? By this I mean usage. Is it going to be used as a general purpose room, rather than maybe say a formal room? Is it likely to get dirty or even stained with daily use? Is this something that will worry you?

In most cases they had a larger seating area per person. Today they appear to be much smaller in size. This could also have to do with the fact that many houses are much smaller. They are also mostly lower back so it is very difficult to fall asleep. This actually reminded me of a couple of incidents in this regard. I think it has happened twice now. The owner of the house has called me a few weeks after the room has returned from being recovered. Then she has complained that the “man” of the house is still sleeping in her chair now! I’m not sure how to change this habit, but it’s nice to know that it’s comfortable.

I used to do warranty work for a large retail furniture store. I ended up asking them to get someone else to do their job because I felt like I was going into a depression mode trying to fix this job.

There is an absolutely huge range of great designer inspired upholstery fabrics on the market today. And if a fabric isn’t your thing, then there are some great vinyls and leathers to choose from. Each of these materials has a place in living room furniture. Again, it comes down to what the use of your salon will be. Vinyls and skins are very practical to care for if you have a messy family. All you need to do is simply clean it up after the spill has occurred. The downside is that it can get hot and sticky to sit on in the summer months, although you can always put a rug on top of it. Fabrics are great for comfort, but may not be so great if you have small children or four-legged family members who like to snuggle with you.

One way is to get a price to get your salon back. Then go to your local furniture store and find a lounge you like. Then ask them how much it will cost you in the same upholstery that you think to recover your living room. You will be surprised at the price difference.
