For some fun invitations, fold pink or purple construction paper in half or cut it into an egg shape and place a picture of a character or a picture of your child dressed in a themed outfit on the front. Write “Come and play with me at my Barney’s birthday party!” and include party details on the inside of the card.

Website design By BotEap.com2. To decorate, hang themed balloons in the party room, on the front door, and on your mailbox to let people know where the party is. Then cut large dinosaur footprints and place them outside, which leads to the front door.

Website design By BotEap.com3. Set your table with purple and green plates and glasses, as well as themed napkins. Use your dinosaur pinata as an eye-catching centerpiece until it’s time to break it out later at the party.

Play “Barney’s Bingo.” Draw or search online and print out bingo cards with pictures of the star and her friends in each box or write the names of the characters in each box. Use colored cereal or jelly beans to mark the children’s places. Then print or write matching names or pictures and put them in a hat or drawing bowl. (This game is played just like regular bingo.) You can give the winner (the first one who can yell “Bingo!” or “Super-dee-dooper!”), or all the kids, some Marshmallow Pops as prizes.

If the person who “it” says: “(The name of a character) says to jump up and down…”, the guests must do so. But if he just says, “Jump down,” kids shouldn’t do it. If a child doesn’t follow directions correctly, he’s out. Give the last person in the game, or all the kids, some stretchy dinosaurs.

Website design By BotEap.com6. “Pin the tail on Barney.” Draw or buy a poster of him (it would be easier to draw because then you could draw him without a tail) and then make some “tails” for all the kids that come to the party. You can have the children blindfolded or close their eyes, turn them three times and have them try to get the tail in the right place. Whoever comes closest can win either Bouncing Putty or Rainbow Springs.

(Or you can choose not to blindfold the children.) Fill your pinata with a variety of toys and candy, including tiny cars, Glo Pops, candy necklaces, and stretchy dinosaurs.
