The main reason was that we now have a son and wanted to move to a safe little town with a good school district and a kid-friendly environment. Telluride was our first choice for many reasons, however the main reason was the excellent school district empowered by some of the happiest teachers we have ever met.

Website design By BotEap.comMy daughter was born in 2008 and as new parents we began exploring the school system in Summit County and were very disappointed in her offerings. The director of the gifted program at the time was a very good friend and gave us an insight into what is going on in the school district in Summit County. My wife and I were surprised to learn that the Summit County School District was not on par with other nearby school districts. Some of our friends with children suggested that we have our daughter at a school in Vail, Colorado. Good idea though, driving 80 miles roundtrip five days a week was a huge burden that we couldn’t meet without being out of our comfort zone. So we started exploring Vail as a new home for our family, however my wife was unhappy with the fact that Vail is directly off I-70, regardless of how great the city is. A very good friend who had moved to Telluride years before recommended that we rent a house in Telluride for a few months and explore the possibility of calling Telluride our new home, so we did and never felt the need to leave the area since then.

Website design By BotEap.comThe town of Tellururo is isolated and truly is a town located at the end of the road. Telluride locals have consistently shown that they are some of the friendliest people we have ever met. It’s no wonder Telluride has been named the friendliest ski town in North America. The first thing we noticed was the speed limit set at 15 miles per hour, allowing families and children to roam the city as if it were an extension of Town Park located on the eastern edge of the city. It was summer when we moved to Telluride and we were able to explore nearby towns, hiking trails, the Ouray hot springs and fell in love with the city.

Website design By BotEap.comAs winter approached, we decided to explore a ski school program for our daughter who was 4 years old at the time and had never skied before. We decided that he would join the Telluride Ski Squad program for a fun outdoor activity at least twice a week during the winter months. Time passes and our son is skiing every weekend and then one day we received an invitation to attend a ski birthday party for one of my daughter’s friends, therefore my wife and I decided to take out our gear skiing and join in the fun by attending. party and lend a hand and keep the kids safe on the slopes. We fell in love with Telluride Mountain that day, unlike Summit County and Vail ski resorts, we were surprised to see that there were no lift lines and that the number of skiers on the mountain was about 10% of what we are used to. My wife and I stopped skiing in 2004 due to the unpleasant time I spent waiting in the lines of the ski lifts and constantly trying to avoid thousands of skiers who covered the ski slopes like a moving carpet of death where my wife and I suffered few injuries caused by skiers who like it. go fast but I really don’t know how to ski.

Telluride Ski Resort is unique and best suited for a family ski vacation compared to any other ski resort in Colorado. It is truly a hidden gem tucked away in the heart of the southwestern slopes of Colorado that offers incredible views and safe skiing for everyone.
