There were several relievers on the Phillies’ radar, including Rockies closer Brian Fuentes and Royals coach Ron Mahay, but both stayed put. Philadelphia also lost to the Dodgers in the Manny Ramirez draft. They’ve been helped by strong pitches from Brett Myers and a terrible Met bullpen, but so far that hasn’t been enough.

There’s a chance a deal could be made with the Tigers for veteran reliever Kyle Farnsworth, helping a bullpen that has lost the lead five times in the eighth inning over the past two weeks.

Rollins is hitting just .266 with 9 home runs on the season, which is a far cry from the pace of his 2007 career, which had him hitting 30 home runs with a clip of .296.

When you are doing it right, they are on your side. When you are doing it wrong, they are completely against you. ” Both he and the Philadelphia fans hope to be back on his side sooner rather than later.
